This is a wooded area near my house. I chose this spot because I think that it's kind of underrated. It can be very beautiful in the fall time and its a nice place to just be out in the open and enjoy nature. I took the photo because I liked how the top and the bottom differed. I like how on the top there is lots of light and its bright, and the bottom is kind of dark and has lots of shadows.
This second spot I chose to shoot was another wooded area. This spot was here at Skyline High School on the front side of the school. I chose to take photos of these because I really like the way that trees look in nature, especially when the colors are added. I was trying to show sort of a nirvana sort of feeling, and show happiness. Although it was hard to find what angle to take the photo, I eventually got it and thought it looked good so that it was almost in halves and sort of lots of loose branches bunched together to make it look almost even.
The next location I chose was also at Skyline High School. This is one of the ponds at Skyline near the wooded area in the previous picture. I chose this spot because I liked how it included both the water and reflections as well as the reeds. When I first took the picture I chose it because I liked how the water reflected the objects behind it, and the reeds sort of as a center piece. The painting version though, reminds me of a country side because of all the bright yellow colors that remind me of wheat and fields.
My fourth picture is yet another wooded area with lots of tall trees. I chose to take a picture of this because I really like how the trees all look together, and how they all seem like they fit. When I see a wooded area like this it calms me down and reminds me of a serene place for thinking. So I was trying to convey that sort of feeling of calmness and serenity. At first I had trouble deciding what angle to take the picture at, but I decided to have the tree trunks and branches in the front. I was trying to show that although life can get crazy and stressful if you go in a little further things will be more stable and peaceful.
My final picture is of another pond at Skyline. I chose this spot because I really like how there are layers within the water. I really like how it goes from hotter colors to more cool colors showing depth. I also think that water and bodies of water are calming, so that was what I was really trying to convey. On the painting I covered most of the details so that it just theres just shapes, but you can still see some lines making it look almost like coral.
