Artist statement:
I chose to have a basketball theme for my layered selfie. The background is my basketball hoop in my driveway. I chose this because that is the place I play the most, and because it's easy for me to play since I don't have to go anywhere. For the next layer I put a basketball, because obviously it's hard to play basketball without a ball. I put the background first because it's the most important, then I layered the ball second because I think it's the second most important part, then me to bring it all together on top. I decided to call this "hoops", because my intents were to show that it doesn't really matter who you are you can still play sports if you want to and have fun.

Comparison and Contrast
I believe that my photography skills have really improved and I have grown very much as a photographer. I learned a lot about editing photos and how to make them interesting and look a lot better. I also learned multiple techniques to make the original photo look better to begin with. For example, the first photo I took was looking up at me whereas the second photo is slightly looking down, which makes it look better. I also think that the second photo is a lot more precise in the erasing of the background. The second photo is also a lot more clean because the two focuses are right in the middle very clear, and there is just a white background. The first photo has so many things in the background that are sort of irrelevant to the photo making it confusing and hard to look at and analyze it. So throughout this class I have grown a lot and learned a lot about photography and Photoshop, and that can be seen through these two photos.
